Desoto County Soil and Water Conservation District has continued to promote green land by giving away trees as part of the annual tree giveaway program.
The agency’s yearly giveaway has been going on for 30 years and has given away hundreds of thousands of trees to be planted all around the community. Just this year, more than 15,000 trees were donated, according to a recent article on the event.
This year, the agency held three tree giveaways in four separate locations—more citizens had the opportunity to receive some trees than ever before. The locations included Hernando’s Gale Center, Olive Branch City Hall, Horn Lake at Latimer Lakes Park, and Southaven’s own Snowden Grove Park. [Read more…]
