Who doesn’t need help paying for tuition and books? If you are a high school senior in Mississippi pursuing a college education at any two-year to five-year Mississippi institution, you may win a $1,500 scholarship, thanks to Stroud, Flechas & Dalton. Stroud, Flechas & Dalton wants to help provide this chance to one student this year. They want to share their passion for education with local students.

Topic:

Currently, the law in Mississippi places a cap on jury awards for non-economic damages (pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment and quality of life, emotional distress, etc.) at $1 million for personal injury claims and $500,000 for medical malpractice claims.

Please prepare a letter addressed to your state representative in which you either take the position of defending damage caps or arguing against them.  Your letter should discuss the positive or negative impacts you perceive that damage caps have on our State and its citizens, and why you believe our founders would have approved or disapproved of such laws.
