What should I do if an insurance company approached me about my injuries in my accident case?
It’s not a matter of if, it’s when, and when is usually the day after an accident that an insurance company representing an at fault party will contact the injured party and ask them how they’re doing, what their injuries are, and often times will want to record that statement. It’s important that if you’ve been injured in an accident to wait until you know how bad your injuries are, or what the actual diagnosis for your injuries are before you talk to an insurance company about them.
The reason is is that information that you provide the day after the accident number one, may not be accurate. Number two, it may be used against you later to establish the argument that the defense will make that any injury you claim several days after the accident that you didn’t claim the day after the accident are not related. It’s important that you wait.
