My parents are in a nursing home. How can I tell if they are being neglected?
I think it’s common sense. If you’re close enough to your relative and you’re visiting them enough in the nursing home to tell whether they’re being neglected or abused. Some signs of that we typically see are evidence of dehydration, bed sores, infections, unsanitary conditions. All of those things are thing you need to look for with your loved one to ensure that they’re getting the best treatment possible. If they’re not, you need to bring it to the attention of the administrative of the nursing home. If they don’t listen, then ultimately you need to bring it to the attention of a lawyer of your choosing.
