Matthew G. Dalton
Attorney Matt Dalton, a sixth-generation Mississippian, received his B.S. in Political Science from Mississippi College in 2015. In 2018, Mr. Dalton received his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he served as Managing Articles Editor of the Mississippi Sports Law Review. Following law school, Mr. Dalton remained in North Mississippi to begin his career representing individuals in the practice areas of personal injury, criminal defense, and civil rights litigation.
Matt’s practice currently includes criminal defense and personal injury matters, with a primary focus on defending those facing felony and misdemeanor charges throughout North Mississippi. In addition to his practice at the firm, Mr. Dalton also serves as a felony-level public defender for the 17th Circuit Court District. In this position, Mr. Dalton represents individuals charged with crimes ranging from the least severe felony charges to those charges carrying the potential for life sentences and everything in between.
Matt is deeply involved in the community and has served in leadership roles in a variety of professional and personal organizations, including the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar and the Mississippi Association for Justice. Most recently, Matt served as statewide chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Association for Justice and he currently serves on the MAJ Board of Governors. Additionally, Matt was one of twenty attorneys throughout the state selected to be a member of the incoming Leadership Mississippi Bar class.
Matt is licensed in all state courts of Mississippi, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern District of Mississippi.
