Approximately 57 seniors from Ackerman High School were on the two buses returning from a campus visit at the University of Mississippi. Calhoun City Fireman Charlie Brown was one of the first responders on the scene. “They were in total shock. Most of them said they were riding along then they next thing they knew they were on the floor of the bus, ” he said. The accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the families of everyone involved will undoubtedly be trying to sort things out for quite some time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.
Despite improvements in truck safety and the increased regulatory efforts of the Mississippi Department of Transportation, it is much too common for Mississippi truck accidents to result in serious injury or death. Victims of these accidents are left with the burden of major medical bills, lost wages and long-term care costs, not to mention the enduring pain and suffering associated with serious injury or the loss of a family member or loved one. If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation, it is very important to consult with an experienced Mississippi personal injury Lawyer that can represent your best interests and help you through the difficult recovery process.
